Combination of uses

Valdebebas is a benchmark in urban development in Madrid because it has been designed in a compact high-rise way with a high density of inhabitants, helping to create a sufficient critical mass so that local trade and non-residential services (schools, nurseries, health centres, etc.) are economically and socially viable. For this, urban design has been especially careful in defining and combining different land uses. Residential use (homes) has been integrated with services (offices and hotels) to avoid areas with little or no business activity.
